Our Renewable Energy Client is looking for a Solar Construction Coordinator for a Contract to Hire position in Houston, TX (Hybrid, 2-3 days in office). You will be responsible for the initial submittal process for solar permits relating to both PV and Battery storage as well as the resubmittal of permits for removals and reinstallations.
Permit Coordinator Responsibilities
- Prepares and submits all necessary documentation for solar permit packages.
- Collaborate with project managers, ensure information is obtained and ensure compliance with all local regulations.
- Identifying project hurdles, finding resolutions, and assisting in resolving these issues relating to permit submissions.
- Communicate opportunities and recommendations for modification or improvements to processes to assure optimum efficiency of company assets.
- Track and manage permit application timelines to ensure projects stay on schedule
- Maintain accurate records of all permit applications and correspondence.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (or GED)
- 2+ years of related experience
- Prior experience with permitting offices
- Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with project management software and database systems
- Related project management certifications
- Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English and Spanish
- Experience communicating with homeowners for residential construction projects
- Working knowledge of Salesforce.com
- Extensive customer service skills
- Computer skills such as Microsoft Office- Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong home construction or residential electric knowledge
